Vitalik supports Taiko and DoraHacks to conduct the largest-scale anonymous community vote
The Taiko network of ETH L2 and DoraHacks, the largest crypto hackathon organization, are promoting the largest-scale anonymous community voting in history, aiming to enhance the decentralization of community governance.
Taiko's Grant Factory Hackathon encourages developers to brainstorm and design innovative solutions, interactive applications with fun elements, or projects with positive social impact. After months of hard work, the selected projects will enter the voting phase, which is an important step towards larger-scale community-driven decision-making.
The Minimum Anti-Coordination Infrastructure (MACI) mechanism, initially proposed by Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, aims to provide a privacy-preserving and anti-coordination community voting solution. Vitalik expressed concerns about the obstacles in traditional voting systems, such as fraud, collusion, and privacy issues, and proposed a blockchain-based solution.
This vote is the final round of Taiko's Grant Factory hackathon, using the Minimal Anti-Collusion Infrastructure (MACI) mechanism proposed by Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum. MACI ensures the privacy of the vote through zero-knowledge technology, while maintaining the integrity of the vote, preventing vote buying and collusion. In the MACI voting round, users submit encrypted votes to the smart contract, and the votes are timestamped on the chain, visible only to the operator. After the voting ends, the operator is responsible for announcing the final results to ensure fairness and credibility. Taiko will provide 50000 Trailblazer points to the community voters (subsequent airdrops will be calculated based on points).
Taiko's community director Ben Wan said, "Taiko is committed to promoting Decentralization at all levels. We are very pleased to see that this can smoothly advance to the final voting round of the hackathon. We sincerely thank the community members for their participation in building and developing Taiko, and look forward to supporting the ultimate winner in our joint effort to build the Decentralization future of Ethereum."
This vote has attracted more than 920,000+ members, marking the largest anonymous community vote in the history of the Ethereum blockchain.
DoraHacks partner Steve Ngok said, 'We are very excited to collaborate with Taiko to launch the largest MACI community voting round in the history of the Ethereum network, creating the largest whitelist. The DoraHacks and Dora Factory teams have invested resources to continue Vitalik and Ethereum's mission to advance the development of MACI, to achieve Decentralization governance, while defending privacy. We look forward to expanding MACI with Taiko and its large and vibrant community, exploring its potential.'
