Mexico will begin reviewing the US-Mexico-Canada Agreement at the end of September or early October.
On May 28, Mexican Economy Minister Marcelo Ebrard said on Tuesday that Mexico is expected to officially begin a planned review of the trilateral trade agreement with the United States and Canada early in the fourth quarter of this year. The U.S.-Mexico-Canada Trade Agreement (USMCA), negotiated during US President Donald Trump's first term, replaced the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) in 2020 and requires the three countries to conduct a joint review after six years. Ebrard has previously said he expects the review to begin in the second half of the year, earlier than originally planned. Trump has pushed for an early renegotiation of the deal and has demanded better terms of trade with all of his business partners.
