"When the tree falls, the monkeys scatter"! After Musk's departure, the DOGE core team will all leave.

Musk's withdrawal from DOGE triggers a chain of resignations.
On the evening of May 28 local time, Musk announced the end of his term as a "special government employee." 24 hours after this resignation statement was issued, his core team members collectively left.
White House officials confirmed on Thursday that several key figures responsible for the government efficiency department (DOGE) have decided to leave the Trump administration. These individuals include Elon Musk's longtime deputy, core leader of cost-cutting efforts Steve Davis, as well as DOGE's general counsel James Burnham and spokesperson Katie Miller.
According to media reports, Katie Miller will next work full-time for Musk, and she is also the wife of White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller.
Musk Expresses Discontent Publicly: Policy Differences Come to Light
Before leaving DOGE, Musk had publicly expressed many grievances against Washington.
Just a day before announcing his resignation, Musk criticized the Trump administration's "Big Beautiful" tax and spending bill, accusing it of directly undermining the cost-cutting goals of DOGE.
As the core department promoting administrative efficiency and cost control under the Trump administration, DOGE has been embroiled in controversy since its inception, facing numerous legal challenges and external resistance. Now, the collective departure of the core team undoubtedly makes the reform plans even more difficult.
Currently, there is no conclusion on how to fill the leadership vacuum within DOGE. The White House has not made a clear statement regarding subsequent personnel arrangements, and whether the departure of Musk's team will trigger more domino effects remains an open question.
