India's first self-developed chip will go into production this year, with the government leading the training of 85,000 engineers.
On March 1st, according to the Jinshi data, Ashwin Vaisnaw, the Minister of Electronics and Information Technology of India, announced that India's first self-developed semiconductor chip will be put into production in 2025. At the 2025 Global Investors Summit, Vaisnaw also mentioned that the government is focusing on cultivating a highly skilled workforce and announced the training of 20,000 engineers under the 'Future Skills Program'. Currently, India has five semiconductor manufacturing units under construction. The first 'Made in India' semiconductor chip is expected to be launched in 2025. To further promote this rise, the government plans to train 85,000 engineers, focusing on advanced semiconductor and electronics manufacturing technology.
