The New Paradigm of Rollup Platformization: The Integration Path of Lumoz

1. Environment-Driven Rollup Changes

As the number of Ethereum users continues to grow, the network is becoming increasingly busy, especially during primary offering events, where gas fees often rise sharply. At the same time, due to the continuous increase in the price of ETH tokens, high transaction fees hinder the possibility of small transactions. Therefore, improving storage efficiency, transaction throughput, and reducing transaction delays are crucial for the development of Ethereum.

Traditional Layer 1 scaling solutions typically include both on-chain and off-chain forms. On-chain refers to optimizations made on Layer 1 by changing the consensus mechanism, implementing sharding, or increasing block size; off-chain mainly includes sidechains and Layer 2 solutions. In comparison, Layer 2 often excels in terms of security.

In the past development, the implementation logic of Layer2 involved off-chain offline centralized computing to process information, transmitting the results on-chain, which not only improved the computational efficiency of transactions but also fully leveraged the high security capabilities of the ETH mainnet. Currently, the mainstream implementation solutions for Layer2 include three types: Channel, Plasma, and Rollup, with Rollup having become the fundamental direction for the future development of Layer2.

There are two main branches in Rollup: Optimistic-Rollup and ZK-Rollup. Overall, ZK-Rollup offers higher security compared to Optimistic-Rollup, and there is no delay in transaction confirmation during the challenge period, making it more promising for applications. However, due to the much higher technical implementation difficulty of ZK Rollup compared to Optimistic-Rollup, the mainstream market for Rollup technology is still dominated by Optimistic-Rollup.

How to shape standardized ZK-Rollup solutions and gradually expand their application market has become an important issue. The holistic solution that Lumoz can provide may become the key to breaking the deadlock.

2. The Strong Background of Lumoz

Lumoz network is a globally distributed modular computing network that, in conjunction with the DePIN network, shapes a powerful, secure, and flexible computing platform, providing computational support for ZK-Rollup, ZK ML, ZKP, and more. At the same time, Lumoz focuses on the construction of ZK-RaaS, aiming to provide a complete set of ZK Rollup deployment and implementation solutions to address various issues such as incompatibility among current ZK-Rollup solutions, centralized computational power, and concentrated risks.

Lumoz has been deeply involved in the ZK field for many years. Its founder has extensive technical knowledge and outstanding blockchain project management skills, leading the team in exploring and researching the ZK field since 2018.

Project Development History:

  • Established in March 2022 in Hong Kong, dedicated to becoming a provider of blockchain scaling infrastructure.
  • Completed $4 million seed round financing in April 2023
  • Officially renamed to Lumoz in October 2023
  • Completed a $6 million Pre-Series A financing in March 2024, with a valuation of $120 million
  • Strategic round of financing completed in May 2024, with a valuation of 300 million USD.
  • Whitelist node pre-sale starts in June 2024
  • Node public sale starts in July 2024

Lumoz launched its testnet in May 2023, and to date, it has 28,403 POW nodes, 16 active Rollups, 470,000 ZKP submissions, and 20 million transaction counts.

On the technical side, Lumoz launched ZK-Rollup Launchbase, increasing support for multiple testnets and providing various modular components. At the same time, several breakthrough technological inventions have been achieved and have been applied in ZK computation on the Merlin chain and ZKFair.

3. Unified ZK Technical Solution

Lumoz provides a modular computing layer, including the settlement layer, execution layer, consensus layer, data availability layer, and core module proof layer.

Lumoz: New Paradigm of Rollup Platform

Lumoz integrates powerful ZK computing resources with the EigenLayer re-staking mechanism through Lumoz Oracle, zkProver, zkVerifier, and Lumoz Chain. This process enhances resource utilization and computational efficiency, which is crucial for generating ZKPs with high computational demands.

Lumoz: A New Paradigm for Rollup Platform

In terms of ZKP computation and submission mechanisms, Lumoz supports parallel computation and sequential submission of ZKP, and proposes a novel recursive aggregation algorithm that can aggregate multiple ZKPs into a smaller ZKP.

Lumoz: A New Paradigm for Rollup Platform

Lumoz's ZK-RaaS Launch Base supports all mainstream zkEVM technologies, allowing developers to easily deploy and launch ZK-Rollup with simple operations. It supports various architecture models, including modular compute layers, native cross-Rollup communication, and customizable infrastructure services.

4. Token Model

Lumoz adopts a dual-token governance model, offering two tokens: MOZ and esMOZ.

MOZ is the native token of the mainnet, which can be used for transaction gas fees, payment for ZKP services, and AI computing power service fees, and can be exchanged for esMOZ at a 1:1 ratio.

esMOZ, as an ecological governance token, is used for the construction and maintenance of the mainnet ecosystem. It can serve as a reward to incentivize mainnet hash power providers and node operators, and is also used for network delegation and decentralized governance.

The exchange rate of esMOZ to MOZ changes over time, adopting a mechanism with different redemption periods corresponding to different redemption rates to alleviate market pressure and protect the rights and interests of MOZ purchasers.

5. Advantages of Lumoz

The emergence of Lumoz will integrate the previously fragmented situations of ZK-Rollups, optimizing the construction of ZK-Rollups while creating a complete set of easy deployment processes. Its main advantages include:

  • Meeting the urgent demand for integrating ZK-Rollup and driving industry updates.
  • Provide a modular computing layer that enhances the main network's security and scalability by integrating EigenLayer.
  • Optimize the ZKP process to improve the utilization efficiency of computing resources.
  • Provide a complete ZK-Rollup deployment solution, which is expected to promote a new wave of ZK-Rollup projects.

Overall, the emergence of Lumoz will address the issues of high deployment difficulty and high computational resource requirements of ZK-Rollup, laying the foundation for the further development of ZK-Rollup.
