Ripple co-founder breaks 14 years of silence
Arthur Britto, one of the co-founders of Ripple, ended his nearly 14-year silence on social media. This surprise development has created a wave of great curiosity and speculation within the XRP community.
Yesterday, a post made from Britto's X account that only contained emojis was interpreted as a sign of a possible surprise. This raised questions about whether the account, which previously had no activities, actually belongs to Britto. Users asked Ripple's technology director David Schwartz to confirm whether the account belongs to Britto.
Arthur Britto, despite joining Twitter in August 2011 under the name of the time, has never posted anything to this day. Nevertheless, his account is followed by more than 17,000 people. Britto developed the XRP Ledger together with David Schwartz and Jed McCaleb and became one of the co-founders of Ripple in 2012.
On June 2, 2012, it was revealed in a recently leaked document that Britto, who wrote the lines of code to produce 100 billion XRP tokens, had received 2% of the total XRP supply. Britto, who has even been the subject of conspiracy theories claiming he is "not a real person," was described as "a special personality" by Ripple CTO Schwartz. Britto's identity remains a mystery, as there are no known photos or interviews of him.
