Galaxy Digital: Tokenization plans may impact NYSE revenue
[Coin World][Galaxy Digital: A certain exchange's around-the-clock tokenization plan threatens NYSE revenue] Galaxy Digital stated in a report on Friday that the tokenization initiative of a certain exchange will remove assets from traditional market channels and put them on-chain, directly challenging the centralized liquidity and activities that large TradFi exchanges like the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) rely on. The architecture of the platform is similar to the Rollup model of certain exchanges like Base, allowing the exchange to have complete control over its sequencer and to collect all transaction fees. Galaxy estimates that Base brings in over $150,000 in sequencer fees for the exchange daily. The report states that by operating the sequencer of the exchange chain and controlling the tokenized assets, the exchange aims to monetize every layer of the transaction stack—from "off-chain transactions to on-chain utility."
