Bitcoin conference fundraising sets record, former president's campaign receives $21 million support

Recently, a high-profile fundraising event was held during the 2024 Bitcoin Conference, raising approximately $21 million for a former president's campaign team. The event was hosted by a Republican senator from Tennessee and attracted around a hundred participants. Participants wishing to have a "roundtable discussion" with the former president had to pay up to $846,000, while the cost of just taking a photo with him was at least $60,000.

An executive from a cryptocurrency industry magazine stated that this is the second highest fundraising event in the former president's three presidential campaigns, with funding primarily coming from industry insiders and large investors. Notably, the former president has previously stated that in 2022, he personally held cryptocurrencies worth between $100,000 and $250,000.

According to public documents from the Federal Election Commission, the former president's campaign has currently raised a total of $221 million, of which approximately $128 million is in cash reserves. The fundraising event during the Bitcoin conference undoubtedly injected a boost into its campaign fund.

This event also reflects the increasingly close relationship between the cryptocurrency industry and politics, as well as the growing influence of digital assets in high-level political activities. With the 2024 U.S. election approaching, the cryptocurrency industry may play a more important role on the political stage.
