Severe bug in browser extension causes abnormal SSD writes, reaching up to 500GB in a single day.
[Golden Finance] According to reports, a certain company has confirmed that its browser extension has a serious bug, causing users' solid-state drives (SSD) to experience abnormally high frequency data writes, reaching up to 500GB per day, accumulating to as much as 25TB over three months, severely shortening the SSD's lifespan. This issue mainly affects users of Chromium-based browsers like Chrome and Edge, and will continue to write data in the background even if the wallet is not in use. Some users have reported that this bug has depleted about 50% of their SSD's lifespan. The company has stated that it is aware of the issue and is actively investigating, with a fix "coming soon" that will reduce data write frequency and the number of data retrievals.
