CoinShares has obtained the EU MiCA license, becoming the first licensed encryption asset management company.



According to Hash World News, CoinShares has become the first encrypted asset management company to obtain the EU's "Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation" ( MiCA ) license, issued by the French Financial Markets Authority ( AMF ). This allows CoinShares to provide encrypted asset portfolio management services across the 27 EU countries and constitutes a tripartite regulatory qualification together with MiFID and AIFM licenses. CoinShares stated that this move is expected to further open the EU's $38.7 trillion asset management industry to compliant encrypted investment products. As of now, the company manages assets totaling approximately $9 billion, and its stock price has risen over 46% this year.
