In response to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York's rejection of Ripple and the SEC's settlement motion on the grounds of procedural impropriety, Ripple's chief legal officer Stuart Alderoty said that the judgment order will not change the outcome of Ripple's final victory (that is, XRP is not a security, etc.), and Ripple and the SEC fully agree to resolve the case and will re-discuss the litigation issue with the court. According to crypto journalist Eleanor Terrett, there is still a turn of events in this case. Although Judge Analisa Torres rejected the settlement motion, there is still an opportunity for settlement as long as Ripple and the SEC can meet the legal standards and present compelling reasons to demonstrate that it is in the best interest of the public and XRP institutional buyers.
