Overview of DeSo, Music, and Metaverse Dapps in the Polkadot Ecosystem

Polkadot is shifting from "chain-centric" to "application-centric". Recently, the Polkadot official website launched a Dapp page and introduced ecological applications through a series of activities. This article will focus on the decentralized social, music, and Metaverse Dapps within the Polkadot ecosystem.

1. Social Field

MeWe

MeWe is one of the largest decentralized social networks in the world, with over 490,000 active users. Founded in 2011, MeWe has been committed to protecting user privacy, without ads, not tracking user behavior, and not disclosing user information.

In January 2024, MeWe successfully migrated 500,000 active users to the Polkadot ecosystem's Frequency blockchain, achieving a seamless large-scale transition from Web2 to Web3. New users will create a unique on-chain identity called "Social Identity" upon registration, which can be used across all applications in the Social Web.

Polkaverse

Polkaverse is the first decentralized social network built on Subsocial. Users can create spaces, post, generate energy, and more. Most operations require the consumption of SUB or energy, but the costs are very low.

Polkaverse has recently launched a staking incentive feature that encourages user interaction through SUB rewards. Users can choose between lazy staking or active staking, with the latter offering more rewards.

Beatport.io is an NFT marketplace focused on electronic music, launched in collaboration with the electronic music platform Beatport and the Aventus chain of the Polkadot ecosystem. The platform has issued a series of NFTs related to electronic music, including the innovative "Sound Reaction NFT".

These NFTs can serve as interactive tools for fans of artists and record labels, offering additional benefits such as early listening, discounted ticket prices, etc. Beatport.io has implemented user-friendly login and payment methods through Aventus.

Public Pressure

Public Pressure is a Web3 media platform that sells music and digital collectible NFTs. The platform is dedicated to facilitating the transition of the music industry to Web3, providing new ways for artists, record companies, and fans to interact and monetize.

The music NFTs on the platform are certified and protected by the KILT digital identity chain. Public Pressure has also partnered with Moonsama to bring music elements into the Web3 gaming platform.

3. Metaverse Field

Bit.Country

Bit.Country is a Metaverse platform and infrastructure that allows users to quickly create their own Metaverse communities. It provides tools such as a land economy system, map engine, and NFT marketplace, supporting creators to customize rules and incentive mechanisms.

Bit.Country is compatible with multiple virtual machines, making it easy for developers to deploy existing Dapps or create new applications. Currently, the Odyssey event is ongoing, and completing tasks can earn you NEER rewards.

Cosmize

Cosmize is a virtual social platform in the Metaverse on Astar, developed by a company with 8 years of experience in the XR field. The platform includes functional areas such as conference halls, private rooms, and Sky City.

Cosmize has previously hosted global Web3 hackathon events and collaborated with multiple projects in the Astar ecosystem, supporting specific NFT holders to enter the Metaverse using exclusive characters. The platform features exquisite modeling, customizable characters, and holds events periodically while providing rewards.

Summary

The Polkadot ecosystem has achieved a high level of Dapp completion in the fields of decentralized social networking, music, and the Metaverse. Web3 native projects like PolkaVerse and Grill Chat have adopted token and NFT incentive mechanisms.
