The Development Status of DePIN on Mainstream Public Chains

With the continuous development of the distributed physical infrastructure network ( DePIN ) field, some well-known projects have started to choose Arbitrum and Polygon as the underlying public chains. Meanwhile, public chains focusing on DePIN such as IoTex, Peaq, and those emphasizing AI development such as Near and Aptos are also experiencing sustained growth. Let's take a look at the development of DePIN projects on major public chains.

Ethereum: Diversification of Applications

  1. ORA: A verifiable AI oracle that is developing opML technology to bring AI models on-chain.

  2. ATOR: A DePIN WiFi network where users can connect and earn token rewards by contributing bandwidth. Currently, the total number of nodes is about 3,400, with a market value of approximately 76.72 million USD.

  3. AIOZ: A comprehensive DePIN solution suitable for Web3 storage, decentralized AI computing, streaming, and other scenarios. It has over 180,000 nodes, with a market cap/FDV of approximately 510 million USD.

  4. Junction: An AI Layer2 project that provides GPU networking and traceable data input services for small and medium-sized enterprises and startups.

  5. Deeper: A decentralized VPN network where users can contribute idle bandwidth to earn token rewards. Currently, there are about 150,000 nodes.

Solana: Node Count Leads

  1. Helium: A decentralized wireless hotspot network where users can share bandwidth to earn token rewards. It has over 1 million nodes and a market capitalization of over 1.1 billion dollars.

  2. Render: A decentralized GPU network where users can connect idle GPUs to complete rendering tasks and earn tokens. Currently, there are nearly 4,000 nodes with a market value exceeding $2.3 billion.

  3. HiveMapper: A decentralized mapping network where users contribute data for maps via dashcams and earn tokens. It has over 150,000 nodes and a market cap of approximately $169 million.

  4. DePHY: An integrated DePIN development framework designed to simplify the development process of related projects.

  5. HajimeAI: a Solana AI sidechain dedicated to bringing multi-intelligent AI to the blockchain to meet users' diverse needs.

Polygon: DePIN Active Degree Highest

  1. DIMO: A decentralized automotive data network where users can create and share verified vehicle data streams to earn tokens. It has over 100,000 nodes.

  2. WIFI Map: WiFi hotspot network, users can contribute WiFi to earn token rewards. It has about 15 million nodes, stemming from its Web2 product base.

  3. Geodnet: Geographic Data Network, users can connect to GNSS antennas to earn rewards, applicable in fields such as agriculture and transportation. Currently, there are nearly 9000 nodes.

Arbitrum: Established dApp Development is Steady

  1. Livepeer: A well-established decentralized video streaming network, where nodes contribute computing resources and bandwidth to provide live or on-demand services for enterprises. It has approximately 100 nodes and a market capitalization close to 500 million dollars.

  2. Wicrypt: WiFi sharing platform where users purchase dedicated devices to share WiFi and earn token rewards. Currently, there are about 1800 nodes.

IoTex: Focused on Sensor Applications

  1. Wayru: Decentralized WiFi network, users can purchase dedicated devices or use existing WiFi devices to set up nodes.

  2. Inferix: Decentralized GPU network, users can share idle GPU computing power to earn tokens. Currently, there are over 1500 nodes.

  3. PowerPod: A decentralized electric vehicle charging pile network, where users purchase charging equipment to share and earn tokens. The official version has not yet been launched.

  4. Network3: A decentralized AI network where users can share resources to provide services for AI models and earn tokens. Currently in the testing phase.

Peaq: Innovative applications are emerging one after another

  1. Natix: A decentralized camera network aimed at building a real-time world map. Users can download a dedicated app to collect geographic images and earn tokens.

  2. Silencio: A global noise pollution measurement network where users can measure surrounding noise with their phones to earn token rewards.

With the continuous development of the DePIN field, we can foresee that more innovative projects will emerge on various public chains, bringing more possibilities for the practical application of blockchain technology.
