In the Web3 world, while people are still discussing various Wallet interface designs and unified identification systems, an important area is often overlooked: the connection experience of DApps.

In fact, the first step we take into Web3 is not registering an account or purchasing cryptocurrency, but connecting the Wallet. Only after a successful connection do we truly enter the blockchain world; if the connection fails, the entire experience will be interrupted.

However, there are many problems with DApp connections at present: the connection processes of different Wallets vary greatly, frequent reconnections are needed in multi-chain and multi-device environments, and new users feel confused about operations such as "signing". These seemingly simple "entry problems" have actually become one of the main obstacles to the widespread adoption of Web3.

In this context, WalletConnect has proposed an innovative solution. It is not aimed at becoming another wallet application, but rather to create a "universal connector" for the Web3 world. By integrating WalletConnect, developers only need to develop once to be compatible with the entire blockchain ecosystem, solving a series of issues such as multi-device switching, reconnection, and identification. This approach is similar to the impact of the Alipay QR code standard on mobile payments, and WalletConnect is becoming the consensus entry point for connection layer protocols.

WalletConnect has also launched its own token WCT, which is not intended for speculation but to provide value to the connection behavior. Users can use WCT to unlock premium connection services such as privacy mode and batch signing; DApps can use WCT to incentivize users' connection and check-in behavior; it may even be possible to build user identification profiles based on connection data and WCT holdings.

With the explosive growth of Web3 applications, the traffic of the connectivity layer will be the first to experience an explosion, rather than the underlying public chain itself. In this process, WCT may become the "value measurement unit" of the entire on-chain connectivity economy.

Therefore, we should not only focus on which Wallet is more user-friendly, but we should pay attention to who is redefining the concept of "connection". The entry point to Web3 will ultimately not be a single application, but a protocol. This new type of connection protocol may become the key breakthrough to promote the popularization of Web3, bringing revolutionary changes to the entire ecosystem.

Laughing to death, if you can't even handle Web3 connections, how can you talk about ecosystem building?
